Belgian Golden Strong Ale (-/-), Tripel Hop Citra (-), 6.66% (+), and Tripel Hop Cashmere (N/A).
I’ve tested multiple varieties of Duvel Belgian beers with the EZ Gluten lateral flow device.
Apart from the “6.66%” variety, which is a a wheat ale, they are all showing as <10ppm gluten.
I’m not sure why they are coming up consistently negative, unlike other barley beers i’ve tested (See HERE). However, they do have some unique aspects in their brewing that may contribute to the low gluten levels. These are their artisinal yeast strain, which could have greater gluten degrading abilities than normal yeasts. Also, the in bottle secondary fermentation increases the time the gluten was exposed to the active yeast. Lastly, they could be using a gluten degrading enzyme like AN-PEP or papain.

Belgian Strong Ale: Barley malt, yeast, sugar, and hops (8.5%).
Tripel Hop Citra: Barley malt, yeast, and hops (9.5%).
6.66%: Barley malt, wheat malt, yeast, and hops (6.7%).
Tripel Hop Cashmere: Barley malt, yeast, and hops (9.5%).
EZ Gluten Test Results
Belgian Golden Strong Ale: Negative on both test runs. Estimated <10ppm gluten.
Tripel Hop Citra: Negative on first test run. Estimated <10ppm gluten.
6.66%: Positive on first test run. Estimated >10ppm gluten.
