Tecate was first brewed in 1944, in Tecate, Mexico. A 12oz can contains 142 calories, 14g carbs, 1g protein, and 0g fat. It’s a solid lager for a decent price. While Corona and Modelo are the top two imported beers in the US, Tecate ranks around eighth. Let’s see how it fares on the EZ Gluten at home test kit.
As you can see the result is positive, >10ppm gluten. If I were to make a guess from the strip, i’d estimate maybe it’s 30-60ppm gluten. Tecate should be avoided by anyone on a gluten free diet. If you are interested to see a summary of all the beer’s I’ve tested so far, see HERE.
